This page describes how long we hold your data and what happens when you delete your account.

While your account is active

Your transcripts and the source media you upload stay in your account until you delete them or close your account. You can delete individual transcripts from your dashboard at any time.

When you delete your account

• Your account is disabled immediately. Sign-in is no longer possible. Your email is freed up so you (or anyone else) can sign up again with it later.
• Your uploaded media and transcripts are deleted within 48 hours of the request.

Backups

We keep rolling database backups for up to 14 days for disaster recovery. After that, backup copies of your data are also gone.

What we keep longer

Some records — billing transactions, fraud signals, anything we're required to keep for legal or accounting reasons — may be retained for the period required by law. Those records do not include the text of your transcripts or the files you uploaded.
